He went to college at Eureka College, where he played football, track, served as swim team captain and was student council president. After college he found his love for politics and he eventually ran for office. During his two term presidency he lowered taxes, strengthened our military and helped bring a quicker end to the Cold War. In 1981 he survived an assassination attempt only 69 days after he took office. Reagan died at the age of 93 after battling Alzheimer's disease. |

He went to Moscow University where he received his degree in law. As a youth, he was involved in politics and was apart of the Communist party officially when he was 21. He became the First Party Secretary of the Stavropol Kraikom. After the death of the general secretary and his successor, Gorbachev was elected in 1985. As general secretary, he wanted to make a change in the communist party and accelerate the economic development. He caused the downfall of communism and the break up of the Soviet Union after introducing democratic ways to the citizens. |
